Salt burn

i saw my salinity was low so I slowly was sprinkling salt into my tank. One time I sprinkled a little too much in and I burned a couple hammer corals. Anything I should do? You guys think theylll recover?

I would baste it off asap.
Always add salt mixed and diluted, or in a filter sock or at least in a low flow area of the sump

It can probably recover in time. I would suggest target feeding and keeping conditions stable. Possibly lower flow depending on the severity of the burns.

FYI I’ve done this with magnesium supplements. I mixed in a pitcher and poured it in, and the additive is crystal like and clear and I didn’t realize I had undissolved crystals. Looks like small pieces of rock salt.

Anyways…of course the magnesium crystals landed right on my 25 head Duncan colony, a moseleya colony, and few random things. Everything reacted horribly. I blew it off within a few minutes but the damage was already done. Duncan’s spitting out 6” slime mucas trails and turning black. Tissue recession. It looked bad. In time, everything did recover but it took a few weeks
