Just curious on what salt everyone uses. I’ve heard good and bad things about a few major brands and want to know the difference. Thanks!

That’s what I was mostly curious about. I use the same instant ocean salt but I’ve had people tell me the higher quality salt, the better your parameters will beI used to use expensive salt and then switched to Instant Ocean (purple) and have had no problems. Some expensive salts mix cleaner but if you mix and use quickly, I don't really see that much residue left over.
I was looking at Red Sea and Tropic Marin salt mixes comparing quality. I have always used Instant Ocean but was curious if these other salts really make a differenceI’ve tried many salts over the years. I was a Tropic Marin guy for a very long time then discovered Red Sea Coral Pro 17 years ago. I tried others but nothing has been as good for me as Red Sea Coral Pro.
Search function is at the top right, you’ll find a dozen threads just like this. Ask 10 people you’ll get 9 different answers.

I’m afraid you are right about the thread topic but wrong about the salt. There is million of these threads already.....
That said IO.
If somebody else was paying the tank would be ESV exclusive.

30 years ago the difference between Instant Ocean and Tropic Marin was night and day. Now it is a smaller gap. I e tried Seachem Reef Salt as well and liked calcium and magnesium levels but it had a really bad residue. Red Sea Coral Pro mixes fast, is more stable than they advertise, and has great levels. I still use it in my FOWLR because on Amazon the Coral Pro is the same price of cheaper than the regular.I was looking at Red Sea and Tropic Marin salt mixes comparing quality. Think of Instant Ocean as a bare minimum salt. For that purpose it is great. If you are seek something better and don’t want to break the bank I really like Red Sea Coral Pro.
