Hi All,

Looking for a cheap beater pump and heater for a 5 gallon bucket when I’m mixing my saltwater. Any Amazon suggestions? Don’t want the heater to be to strong since it’s such a small amount of water. If you can’t tell, I’m new here! Lol thanks all!

I’d go with a 100 watt heater, I use the silver fluval and it’s lasted years. Any 250-500gph circulation pump works to mix.

I’d suggest a digital thermometer as well, so you can quickly know it’s ready.

So something cheap like this to stick to the side of the bucket and just let it run after adding the salt? How long would you allow it to run for mixing

Yep, I’d just suggest supporting a reefing store and buying a better brand. If nothing else, to prevent electrical shock.

I'll second not cheaping out on a heater. Even if it's just for making salt water. It is something you never want to cheap out on.
