I like it but I like the minimalist look. I've been thinking of doing something similar in my tank.

More progress pics!
Installed the hangers for the lamp. Wanted to leave everything ready in its place for when the time comes. Lamp is currently over my 20g cube

Thanks :) cant wait either

Well i hope my 40b enjoyed her dry time as much as i did even though i had nightmares with it cause tonight she's gonna get wet!
Here some pics after the final touches

Last dry moment :P

Here's my RO unit. Yesterday i changed all its cartriges. I removes the dual Di it had on top of the membrane and decided to replace one of the carbon stages cause it had two for a Di resing cartridge which is more efficient than the horizontal tubes it had before. My tap water is just 40 TDS which is not bad so my resing lasts enough.

And it began!

Of course i had to try the new lamp to see the coverage :P

And a short run around the system

Sorry for the wires mess in the cabinet. It is from the lamp and i was just testing

The SUSPENSE, I could never fill a tank like that, I need to make all the saltwater then add it on top of the sand or the wait will kill me. Great job, one of the cleanest setups I have seen. I want that nice of a stand, but I never spend on stands, just livestock and equipment.

Thanks guys

Actually this is the first time I fill a tank like this. I figured I dont have a large container to to all at one and i didnt want go run with buckets back and forth so i'mgoing with R/O, do a quick run to re check everything's alright and then I'll do a couple of very heavy salty mix so I dont add the mix straight from the bag.

Stand was very cheap. The frame was built with recycled tubing. It barely cost me $60 for all

Here another pic. My RO is in turbo mode today! Water presure is over 60psi so its going faster than expected

Well the tank is finally running with salt water. I had to change the pump from 3MDQX to a 2MDQ that a friend had. This new pump is 800gph and runs very well. Got a pretty decent flown in my display and enough to feed the chiller and reactors. I started cycling with some shrimp decomposing in and adding MB7. Will get a few quality pics once I got my computer back from repairing :)

Wow what a build! That sucks about the cracked glass and everything but it seems you did a great job repairing it! I gotta admit, I would've just bought a new one lol. I just wouldn't trust myself resiliconing the tank. :crossedlips: I really like the way you did that light fixture! If you didn't know it that could be mistaken for an AI fixture!! I never thought about putting the LEDs into 3 like they do. Do you have different colors in the groups of 3? I assume 2 in the middle are the moonlights. Would this type of lighting set up work with a controller such as Apex do you think?

Thanks ;) The lamp is basically an AI sol in steroids. I really like their design and the look of an exposed heatsink with the white plastic so I wanted to recreate that. The groups have 2 Royal Blue and 1 Neutral white but two of the clusters have a Cool Blue in the mix. The two in the center are two 3W LEDs as well but driven to 350mA. Now that true violet 420nm LEDs are available again, will swap a few RB's for TV's

The lamp is controlled by Arduino controller

could it be possible? at just about a week that it started, threw 2 big unfrozen shrimps to decompose. One of them got sucked by the pump which was broken into a million pieces. The water was cloudy, stinky and ammonia was shoot a high level. Now water is crystal clear, currently running skimmer & biopellets from first day? Was also dosing MB7

This one looks darker than it actually was. Looked to me very close to the first color

I'm not in any hurry at all, just amazed of this results.

couple of pics

DSC_0888.jpg

I still have a wire and tubing mess. Still waiting on setting up the chiller and organize everything. The space I had for the ATO reservoir will be used to house the lamp drivers and controllers. The Ato container cannot be up there because once the aqua lifter started to dose water, it kept feeding by gravity. Now the container is on the floor next to the tank.

I transferred 75% of my corals from my cube. I had my fish for a few days now. Feeding everyday to add some waste and increase bacteria. Been dosing a capful of MB7 every other day. Parameter seems to be right on the spot and last night I tried acans and frogspawn. They looked so happy right when I placed them in and today they were doing great. So started dipping corals and transferring and to my surprise almost all of them opened right away! Though it would take some more time due to the dip (did 50/50 peroxide/sea water for nuisance algae and then revive)

Took some macro shots and FTS. Processing and cropping now so stay tuned in the next few minutes
