Just changed my carbon and GFO. Need to take the filter-floss off the collection roll. empty skimmer and clean fuge pad... My wife was not amused when I told her I was keeping my clam clean. even when I told her what I was talking about. >.< I need to just shutup sometimes...

Continued Phyto dosing and growth:

In addition to using the Phyto for my 2 types of pods, I've been dosing anywhere from 0 to 4oz of Phyto to the system daily; I think it helps but who knows.
Just started another batch; have quite the attic stock:
IMG_3914(1).JPEG IMG_3915.JPEG

Its pretty straightforward:
sterilize everything with alcohol
1ml/L f/2 into 1.014 water
fill 1:4 Phyto to water into jugs no more then 1/2 full
bubble violently for a week
fill the jugs 1:1 with more f/2 fertilized water.
wait another week.
Pour-off 2/3 of each jug and refill with more fertilized water.
wait another week.
Pour-off 2/3 of each jug and refill with more fertilized water.
wait another week.

I let it roll till one goes down.
sometimes I do mini resets like this one;
I took one jug out of rotation and added a freshy; topped off a jug in the fridge and added a whole new one. refilled the little jugs too. Added a ton to phyto to the pods and tanks then distributed about two fingers of Phyto between the three jugs and used old saltwater from last week after adding the f/2 to it to get the jugs where they are now.
didn't sterilize anything this time since using old saltwater.
If your culture is strong enough or concentrated enough, they'll outcompete most issues.
because I was using like temp and water and am not shocking any of the phyto with temp/ph/salinity changes I dont think it'll be an issue.

super idea! yeah I wish they would allow .stl uploads.
I've sent .STL's on R2R by placing them in a .ZIP folder. It still requires the receiver to have a .ZIP extractor, but isn't that common practice to have one installed on a computer these days? I have no idea what trouble it causes (if any) for mobile users...

...and, if this was the only intent of your comment, I also wish they would allow direct upload of .STL files on R2R.

I gotta set one up. Gonna start phyto first and then move into pods.
