I have a few questions about a sand filter. So, here they are.
1.Will it make my water crystal clear?
2.Will it get rid of hair algae and other kinds of algae in the DT?
3.Is it even worth having a sand filter?

-Thanks!

1. no
2. no
3. no

good husbandry and water parameters are the best. a phosphate remover may help with the algae, and carbon will take out tannins to increase the clarity. UV sterilizers to a point will as well by killing water borne bacteria.

sand filters are used mostly in the FW hobby or large public aquariums.

I agree, I would pass on the sand filter. Filter socks work great!
