Sand questions need help

WHATS BETTER CRUSH SHELLS OR NORMAL SAND (thinking about getting black and white sand)which one would be better to maintain and any info will be useful:bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile:

Sand. Too much junk will get caught within the shells IMO.

I'm a normal sand kind of a guy, mostly because I like the look of it. Some people have problems with the sand being blown around by powerheads. My personal preference is 80% sand 20% crushed shell. I also think finer sand can be better for wrasses that dive and sleep under it, but that is just my thought.

I used to use crushed coral and just switched to sand this year. So far I like the sand but have had algae issues!

I actually started with live sand, and just switched to crush coral. To me its easy to clean, I use a syphon during water changes.
