the title says it all... why is my sand sifting star climbing the glass? The sand is definitely dirty enough so I know he can’t be looking for food. He climbs all the way up and the just lets go and drops wherever he lands

I had one that loved climbing glass. Sometimes I'd put a small sliver of wild-caught shrimp close to its mouth as a treat. The SSSF loved it. :)

Will krill work? :D

Never tried krill. I kept wild caught frozen in saltwater and would slice some off now and then. It was awesome to watch its mouth open and slowly draw it in. :)
