Are these fish very different or are they the same thing with with just different names.

I’ve heard they completely different and also that it’s the same but just called different names

header should read VS no CD

Sandsifters are normally gobies. Some people would refer to other species that stir the sand as Sandsifters but normally we use it to describe sandsifting gobies. The trouble comes when you think of all gobies as exactly the same, they can be very different and have different niches, diets or behaviours.
Sandsifting gobies aren't the easiest fish to keep longterm unless you have a very large and healthy sandbed or get them feeding on substitute foods but other species of gobies can be really simple to keep.
