Hi have a 50g water tank/reservoir that has turned a light green on the inside. Its only ever had RODI in it, never cleaned it in 8 years.

What’s the procedure here to sanitize the container and have it be safe to use again?

Try citric acid and water. If that doesn’t work try muriatic acid. Or plain bleach and water. Just make sure you rinse well.

A few caps? Is that enough to sanitize 50g?

How much specifically should I use?
Def use unscented and maybe a cup? Let it circulate over night and check it out.. pressure washer works wonders inside of them also.. I was able to get my clean with a pressure washer only of residue and precipitation, I didn’t have actual algae.

Make sure to use real hypo. Don’t use the no splash Or any version that claims to clean better than bleach. Those have surfactants in them.
