Saved my SPS with iodine!

I see many tanks who didn't dose before come out with 0 iodine on icp testing.
Some if them did just fine before dosing.
A few did indeed improve with starting to dose.
Believe iodine gets consumed very quick in tanks which causes levels to drop very quick if not maintained, this is why water changes alone won't really maintain it. Minimum amounts do get added with food but far from maintaining tanks with larger demand.
I saw 2 tanks after an overdose of iodine (no incidents here l, just levels that went too high while trying to correct low levels ) abd the effect on corals was pretty harsh.

Interesting reads, I use lugols iodine as well. In my 60 I just use 1 drop from dropper once a week. Im afraid to dose it but I've read how beneficial it is.

Do you have a skimmer? It’ll pull out any excess!

I dose about 5ml once a week in my 90g !
I could do 1mL once a day and it Probably wouldn’t make my skimmer go ask crazy.
but we dosed 1x/wk at the aquarium I worked at so I just repeat that with my tank!

I had an SPS that was on the brink of death. Extremely brittle, and almost all color was gone. in less than a month it’s color has come back on half of it (the other half is dead-dead) And has already started producing more heads!

so with that one alone, yes.
As for the other sps...specifically the montis... their color is more vibrant than they have been since two weeks after adding them!
