Saving the Pods!

When I trim algae, I notice I'm also throwing away a bunch of pods. I've tried swishing the algae back and forth to get the pods out, but while carrying the algae to the garbage, I still feel the tickle of the pods, and also see them on my hands.

Is there a simple way to wash the pods out of algae so you're not throwing them away?

I'd like to know. The best I've come up with is putting the algae on top of my screen cover till its dry. A bunch will drop off. But not all

I would just chalk it up to collateral damage and move on. If anything, just take a few more minutes out of your schedule and do some more swishing. GL.

When I have to cut my Chaeto, I just take the piece I cut and clip it to the side with my veggie clip in the display tank for about 5 minutes. So the pods get to populate again in the display. It has seemed to work for me.

I don't use Chaeto, but anytime I take a rock out of the water the pods release themselves in a panic and scatter. Maybe try taking that chunk and clipping it out of the water above your sump/display (wherever you want them). I am guessing they will freak out like they do out of water and release from the Chaeto and fall back into the water. Swishing them in water probably just makes them cling on for dear life.
