I've been seeing a lot of online vendors stocked up and selling some incredible looking, and pretty unique australian scolys in the last month. Quite a few that are considered master, ultra masters and even rainbow varieties. I see solid colors, bleeding apples and war paint frequently, but I haven't seen this many of the higher end type available in the past year. Has anyone kept track from past years if this is common around this time of year or really just no coincidence, likely just a big shipment that importers have been bringing in. Maybe this will be the next big thing to mark up prices.. hord the gem's till this time of year and call it scoly season. sorry to all collectors pocket book in advance for thinking about this idea...

I know some things are seasonal, fish in particular, but I'm not so sure there is a season for scolys, maybe there is a peak time for harvest governed by collection permits and such.

Recent harvest bans and harvest ban removals may also be a reason why specific corals are more common in stores.
