Right guys a girls, im fairly new to this game but my tank has been running for 4 months now. And i always see hundreds of pods in the bottom and really wanted a scooter blenny so i did research then bought one.
My tank is 180g 4ft, probably about 70/80kg of live rock!
Ca 500
Dkh 10
Amm 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Phosphates .25
I bought the scooter blenny, 6 days in and he is eating fine looks to be puttin weight on etc, wake up day 7 to find him dead!
I always qt new fish but chose not to with the blenny after research and just give him a freshwater dip.
I feel gutted and annoyed as i love "ursula" as my mrs called her. And want to try again when i feel more clued up.
Input and advice much needed!

First off, no more FW dips. Not saying this was the cause of his demise but was totally unnecessary, and stressful.
Do you have any anemones in the tank? What about other live stock?

No anenomes. I have a
1x picasso trigger
2x clowns (tiny)
1 valentini puffer
1x sailfin tang
1xsingapoe angel

The trigger and puffer are real chilled out and dont even attack the blue legged hermits i have. You think he could of died because of the bath a week later?
I am just scared to get any diseases in my tank as it is my pride and joy!

Scooter Dragonets are not prone to diseases at all. If concerned QT the fish for a week or two to be safe.
Anything is possible. Could be that the fish was already sick. Or was attacked by another fish. Sometimes ya just can't tell.

Yea. Thing is i want to try again cos is a super cool fish. And was my favourite!
Well... Ive bought a stock of copepods and going to put them in the tank for a while. Then qt either another blenny or mandarine and try and fatten him up! Then release him.
Also my lfs told me today that dips should be carried out in tap water not ro! Does this sound right?
