I’ve had my flametail blenny for 7 months and no problems whatsoever , always used to perch and be quite active in the tank. About a month ago it wasn’t at its perch and didn’t show up during feeding time then showed up 2 days later ate and was fine .

Then it started disappearing and not showing more frequently and now it rarely ever comes out to perch , it now on 3 separate occasions has randomly burst out of its bolt hole and swam around the tank like crazy smashing into the glass and rock, swimming up to the surface then resting and going back to its hole so I put it in a net to have a better look to see what’s going on and it seems like it has really heavy breathing but no white spots or gold coating.

All other fish in the tank seem absolutely fine . 2 clowns and a firefish.

130L AIO

Parameters

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - <5
PH- 8.4
Phosphate - 0.015

Please help Benny :(

Pics are very fuzzy and impossible to assess a fish out of water. Please post a video using bright white light intensity, no blue

Sorry about that, thank you for the response hopefully these are clearer -

tOP VIEW HARD TO SEE BUT FIH SEEMS to be thin and may be feeding off its liver

The fish looks thin - One possibility is that it is dying of old age - they do not live that long - depending on how old it was when you got it. In fact you've done a great job according to this: "

A flametail blenny typically lives for 3 to 6 years in a marine aquarium when given proper care and a stable, healthy environment"

Sorry - nothing comes to mind that would cause this. The blenny is breathing a bit fast, but that is probably a function of it being in the basket. I didn’t think the fish looked overly thin…..
