Ive been in the hobby for years but only have about a year with saltwater and only have had a kenya leather, one zoa polyp, and a plate coral cant remember what it was. However i picked up what you see in the attached photos 4 days ago. The corals were all placed were you see them currently and the anenome was doing fine until last night and now hes sucken into this hole and hasnt come out he seams healthy other than no wanting to come out but the other corals seem okay par on sandbed is about 100 ish where they are placed and about 120 where anemone is (rainbow bubble tip) last night as i was feeding fish he was out but hes been kind of hiding in this hole since i got him which wasnt my plan he just moved to it and wont move from it now but as i was feeding a brown film about the size of a dime randomly formed and he closed up right in front of me so i used a little baster to suck it off him and he just hasnt come out since if this behavior is normal for them so be it ill let him decide when he wants to come out but im suffering from the typical i need to do something now mentality but i dont want to cause more stress to any of the corals water peramiters are good 0 ammonia less than .2 nitrite and 15 nitrate ik nitrite should be 0 but its very low and its left over from the cycle and its been very low for a while no skimmer atm sadly but i was wondering if i should be concerned? I didnt dip anemone but i did with the other corals

Rocks and sand look brand new , how old is the tank? Anemones love stability and mature systems , it is likely acclimating to your tank ensure stable parameters and it will come out
The tank is about two months old now everything is doing great im starting to get algea growth as well as you can see some coraline algea growing

To restate what has already been commented on twice, many/most corals do not like new tanks and do poorly or out right die.

Two month is a new tank, most expecially when starting off with dry rock. Your rock and sand look nearly sterile. The tank has not had time to develop the micro-fauna and balance out yet that many corals require.

I added an anemone a month in , I also don’t follow rules well. The difference is that my rock was all live rock from gulf live rock. It will be challenging but not impossible , I wish you the best

I appreciate the experience
Monitor the nem, don’t do any drastic changes , let it acclimate and maintain stable parameters it should pull through. It will be challenging in tank that has yet to go through the uglies but it can be done, not to discourage you but it’s something I tired and failed with dry rock

I do understand what your saying especially since soft corals tend to like dirtier water like more nutrients. I am feeding daily red sea ab+ and par is well within range and parameters are good. For anyone still interested he just started to come out and ive been watching for some times and im pretty sure i just saw him poo im thinking he on top of all other things he could be eating/poo i hear lots of anenomys hide when this behavior is performed and i cant thing my new ish tank is the issue due to my three other corals doing okay as of right now. Also if coraline algea could grow corals should too as well as im having algea starting to bloom

Thanks man i appreciate it and yea im aware of the ugly stage. I let the tank fully cycle before even adding fish and added my fire fish and fed heavy unitl ammonia went down again in order to try and get a ton of nutrients to support a lot more bacteria before even adding the coral and fish so all in all i think its going great and im following common rules but thats not to say it always works

A few hours later and one assumingely poo later
If worst comes to it and they die i will accept that defeat and take it as a learnign experience to not add coral so soon because that seems like the only option other than just adjusting to a new enviornment

Punctuation is always helpful.
Anemones are known for being fickle. I say get 10 so you can enjoy 4 that are out. If you could get mature rock from a buddy or LFS. Your bacteria population would benefit. Tampa Bay Saltwater @LiverockRocks has excellent packages starting at $135 shipped right to you!
Good luck!
