Hello all. Im leaving for college in about 4 months and Im deciding ill take a 3gallon pico along that my girlfriend(nanogirl) donated =) Yes, im stressing about leaving my 29 gallon BC behind, but I plan to bring frags of every colony i have along so i dont stress tooooo much. I have just started the set up and here is what i have.....

3gallon Pico
Fluval U1 (Modded)
Live Sand
18W 50/50 PC. (This will be enough for my Zoas i plan on bringing)
Mini Heater

TO GET
Live rock
One little fish, yes its a small tank but i would like to bring a friend along. Any suggestions?
A few cleaner hermits to keep my rocks up to par.

Heres what im working with.

The Tank....

I cut filter pads to fit snugly inside. The original filter had no room for carbon.

Media bag inserted in the center. Ferric oxide/carbon mix.

My Red Sox themed dorm pico =)

Yes, i know it is small, but it is all i can afford to have inside a dorm room at SIUC. I will continue to update this thread, but this is just a start. Ive seen some pretty legit 3gallon picos, and i plan to head down that road too ; )

Hope you like it!

Yeah aquatica gets them in and if they don't sometime when you go you can order one and pick it up there.

What are the dimensions?
They are like a max of 3 inches and mostly stay around their home with the shrimp.

Or a pair of twinspot gobies! Shrimp/Pairs are neat too for smaller tanks!

neon cleaner goby stays realy small and there lively for a goby.also not to hard on ethe walet.

I have one and hate it, I'd take your 29. I have 3 sexy shrimp and a chalk basslet in there. I replaced the stock lighting with a Par38

Thanks for the pessimistic response.......Anyways, i clearly said IT IS ALL I HAVE ROOM FOR. Im in a dorm, a 10 by 10 room with another guy. Not an apartment. KTHXBYE =)

Yea man, the room's 10 X 10. You could fit a 6 footer in there easy! haha nice start man, can't wait to see it full. +1 for the shrimp/goby pair.

would be awesome to have just 1 monti cap in there and have it take over the whole tank..... good luck

Nice looking little pico Scotty - I think its a perfect dorm room tank....I remember my 10x10 cell. I was lucky to fit a TV, computer, and mini fridge.

I like the neon goby idea for that tank.

Scotty... How about an update? Don't forget the photos.

I'm folowing along except for the "Red Sox". Cubs Dude!!!!!

clown gobies are cool, they perch on everything!

oh and im with ya on the Sox!! but they not doign to hot so far this year
