It’s the tequila…I swear :zany-face:
If I didn't know you any better, I MIGHT have actually believed that :grinning-squinting-face:
Going to be interesting how much faster time goes in 5 more years.
I hope it doesn't, sometimes I already feel I miss too much being at work. Can't think of it flying by any faster

You will blink and hes 10 blink again and hes driving. My oldest is a senior next year. Seems like yesterday she was laying with me watching michigan football. I miss those day. Wish I could have them all over.

Ok…back to the build…maybe ;)

with all the algae and vermetid issues ongoing in the 75, I decided back in June 2021 that a reboot was best option to rid the tank of the nasties. So, I ordered some dry rock from KP Aquatics to build a new scape and ordered new sand for the tank…then, a certain Enabler suggested I upgrade to a larger tank too…since he was in the know of exactly how unhappy I was with the 75 overall. Aside from the nasties, I had a good amount of salt creep happening on the back of the tank from the closed loop bulkheads and the external overflow as well. Never was really happy with the closed loop, could never seem to get it to flow the way I wanted/expected it to. Plus, the plumbing for it, in combination with my sump, made it a pain to work on anything under the stand…

the first attempt at the closed loop…

This worked until fairly well until the Oceans Motions 4way unit got some sand in it which ate up the inside of the unit and caused the wet side magnet to rupture from salt exposure…so, ripped it all out and went with 2 RO Varios6’s in place of the Reeflo and OM 4way

cleared up some space under the stand…needless to say…no closed loop on the reboot

I kept battling the 75 and was increasingly becoming more unhappy…was losing more corals, and pulling rocks and scrubbing every other weekend was becoming a drag…in steps @Dolelo96 and @JoshH … Dolelo had an IM 25 Lagoon she was no longer using and offered it to me at a good price… plan was to use the 25 to house my corals until I decided what I was going to do with the 75… August 2021, the 25 lagoon arrives and JoshH being the stand up guy he is…had a stand for the lagoon shipped to me(I had no idea it was coming :astonished-face:).

By mid September I was fully convinced a new tank was in order, so I started contacting builders…spent weeks talking and getting quotes…by mid October I had my choice narrowed down to 2 builders…ultimately I ended up going with Crystal Dynamics Aquariums,CDA. October 28, 2021 the tank was ordered….time to start on the scape and getting other goodies lined up for the new tank. Me being me, if I was replacing the tank, I decided everything, for the most part, needed to be replaced as well . So…first up…new sump…I was running a Trigger Systems Ruby Elite 36 under the 75, and although it’s an interesting concept for a sump layout, it really was a pain to work in…

The way it was designed, the fuge section was actually supposed to be in the back, skimmer section on the right and rerun in the front, I wanted the fuge up front for a second display…

December rolled around, C19 slowed the build of the tank, CDA was hit hard by it, I took my yearly vacation for the last week of 2021…spent the week building the scape for the new tank (I had worked on it a few weekends prior to this, but ended up starting over).

all my KP Aquatics dry rock laid out by size/shape

I built it a scape.

I used super thin super glue and rock dust/crushed rock to build both scapes, this is the glue I used…

This is the best new scape that appeals to me that I have seen in the past couple of years, my hat is off to you sir. :)

Nice seeing Josh helping another aquarist with their needs. I know he has done this for others! Well done Josh!

In reality he was threatening to send me a Stuffed Barney toy if I didn't, so I had no choice :disappointed-face: :face-with-tongue:
