Hello, I’ve heard sea horses like a taller tank, would one of those vertical aquariums be better for them?

not really. you can keep them in any shape tank, as long as its appropriately sized, has gentle flow and no other creatures which will harm them or compete with them for food.

Rectangle tanks are better for them, but it should be 18"-20" tall minimum. They swim all over the tank, not just up and down.

Depends what you want to keep ultimately.... I have a 32 gallon with 4 erectus, thats a full tank. I would say my tank is too small for pipefish. I would say that 30-32 gallon is very minimum size for a pair of seahorses, but if you want pipefish along with seahorses then take a look at the 40 breeder, thats a good size tank.
