It will be fine, its recommended for 18" minimum, although 20" is better, but I think 16.5" is fine, especially since they will have more room to swim horizontally. They really do swim around every single inch of the tank, they explore everywhere. My tank is 32 gallon (18" high) and I have 4 erectus, but your tank is better than mine IMO, so don't worry. Good luck and start a build thread so interested folks can follow along with you.

I got a 60 gallon tank that is horizontal. 16.5 inches tall. I didn't realize they needed a vertical because I read 30 gallons was sufficient. Will this tank be ok for them?
While it will work, yes vertical is recommended for tall structures for them to hang onto such as floating chains, silk plants, etc. Make sure water flow is subtle

Im unsure how to start my own thread. Saltwateraquarium.com sent me here for help. So today is my first time to post.
