I'm thinking about adding a sediment filter to my saltwater storage tank to try to eliminate the gunk build up from reef crystals.
I was wondering if anyone has done this and if they recommend a separate smaller pump, or put it inline with the mixing pump. I afraid of head pressure build up on my mixing pump.
I'm trying to Google info, I know this topic has been talked about before but I'm not finding what I hope to that's why I'm asking.
I appreciate any feedback.

I haven't tried it in line before (thought of trying it way after everything was already done) but I do run a separate canister on a separate pump with a sediment filter when I make new water. Doesn't seem to have head pressure issues that way and I definitely neglect it as far as servicing is concerned.
