How much Selcon is too much? I have been thawing 2 cubes in a cup of tank water and adding one whole pipette of Selcon. Something feels like I am doing it wrong. Curious what other Selcon users do.

apply the selcon to the food/cubes outside of water. Give a bit to absorb/harden then add water. Coat the food with whatever amount needed to coat the exterior layers. That’s it

Ok. Thanks. How necessary is Selcon use? I feed Vitalis marine flakes in the morning & 1 cube of mysis and one of spirulina brine shrimp in the afternoon.

I’m having a vermitid snail outbreak and trying to cut out as much unnecessary particulates and nutrients as possible. I plan to start rinsing my frozen food as well. Just curious if I should cut the Selcon.

Thanks!

It’s a good thing to add to food. I add it once a day with one feeding. I don’t believe in rinsing food. Selcon won’t hurt anything I would continue to use it.

Vermitid snails are best dealt with by natural predators like bumblebee snails.
