Inquiring this for a buddy of mine who is looking to add a uv closed loop t. Any know of any pump brands that self prime thereself. He is not the most hands on when it come to his tank and pays people to do everything. Offered to help plumb this project so ideal want something that self prime so It one less thing need to hear about when others try to maintain it.

There is no such thing at this scale. There are some engineering workarounds, but the complexity outweighs the benefit.

Basic options are a priming power head that keeps the volute and suction side mostly flooded or a check valve that maintains prime are likely going to fail and/or need regular maintenance.

Why is self priming a requirement, is there no way to feed the UV from the sump?

Both lines In tank

Then once it has initial prime, assuming its pump is lower than the tank, it will never lose prime. Initial prime is just filling the system with water. A power head and hose in the suction or discharge can do that… or a fitting and valve could be added at the top to allow easy priming.
