So i sold a light fixture last week to a fellow r2r member, i stated that the light had only 4 out of eight bulbs firing, and answered a dozen or so questions he had via pm... He sent payment, i shipped the light... I even spent 28 more than i had to, a better box to ship in $18, sent ups when could have sent usps, extra $10... So he gets the fixture and sends me that it is broken and it would cost him to fix it... Did you get insurance he ask's, i should have but did not... He said it needs ballasts, i found what he needs on ebay for under $40, and he wants me to refund him enough to fix it??? I am a very fair and honest person, i was raised by the golden rule, i give people great deals because i love to get great deals!!! Should i risk this guy screwing my feedback up??? Or just give him his $$ back??? IMO if you know your purchasing a broken item, you don't complain and ask for your money back... Any thoughts would be great!! Thank's

Do you have a link to your sale thread?

I say if you stated that it was previously broke then it is his issue.

Did it break during shipping or is all that is wrong with it what you already told him?
It was that way before shipping! It lost two sets of bulbs in a weeks time, i figured it was a bad wire.
I would have had it fixed, but it was a 36'' and i have a 48'' tank, + i wanted to go a diff route with lighting. Everything was stated before payment was made.

I am not sure on the link, i do have all the pm's in my inbox were everything was gone over about the issues with it... I think in future i will fix or have someone fix before selling. Btw the clam's are awesome!!

If you listed the item as a "broken & as is" item, then it's not your job to fix it.

I have a broken PS3 on ebay right now and it's clearly listed as BROKEN/FOR PARTS.

If someone got my ps3 and said "hey, it's broken...." I would probably respond with "duh..."

I did not have as is or for parts, but i did state 2 sets of bulbs would not fire.. Thread is on second page of dry goods still, unsure how to post link..lol... Thanks

Well it happened, i didn't give him everything he kept asking for, now i have a neg rating... Makes you not even want to sell anything on here, cause you never know what kind of a weirdo your dealing with!! He wanted new bulbs, new ballast, money back, ect. Good thing he dont live local to me!!

I read your for sale listing & it was pretty clear that it needed fixing & that you didn't know how to do it some people are just scum

looks clear to me. it needs fixing and you did not know how or even what the problem was. also said that the bulbs where bad. from those fact i would tell him to beat it. or ship it back at his cost in same condition. thats the only way i would give him his money back. not even sure i would do that. unless there was something we cant see that took place in PM seem like a clear case to me

ups is insured for 100.00 automatically

And? It was clearly stated that part of the light did not work prior to shipping (I remember looking at the sale thread when it first went up) - you can't make a claim against the shipper because it doesn't work when it arrives. Not working is not working - clearly the buyer needs to learn how to read.

There's an idea for the mods...

If you get negative feedback...you have like a little link or something next to it that you personally could explain your side of the story for people to see the truth. I guess this could work both ways too for liars that sell stuff becasue they would be able to try and cop out of doing any wrong...

just an idea. maybe someone could think of something better.

It's just not fair because one negative and you're reputation is pretty much shot.

no need to, a thread like this one is more than enough... in his initial f/s thread it clearly states the fixture is not 100percent working... that is enough for for me to clearly see the buyer didn't pay attention to the post and there fore abused the system it will be reversed i just need a little time...;)

If you go to your own feedback and pull up a specific feedback post you can reply.
