Serpent Star with hole...

My Serpent Star has a hole in the top of him. I'm guessing the Emerald Crab did it. He is very much alive. Should I go ahead and take him out? Is there anything I can do to fix it? I know they regenerate limbs so maybe this can be fixed?

i seen this at my lfs the star ate a mandarin that was in the tank and the fish actually popped threw the top of the star , if i can find the video he took of it ill post it

My brother had a star that had the whole top of it missing and it ended up just growing back.

I think he'll be just fine! Mine has gotten wounded in the past and I've had it for 6 years now.

Well the hole is bigger. It looks like a chunk is missing now. Where the hole is in the pic it is like a little slice missing from him.
