Setting Up A Frag Tank

Looking to set up a frag tank because my display tank has basically become a frag tank. Planning to tie it into the display to take advantage of existing equipment (I QT new corals separately so no concerns there).

I have a couple of new tanks I could use that would work, but I also have a couple of tanks in the basement that are running and full of live rock (including a 20 long). I'm thinking that using one of these might lessen the impact of tying another system into the display tank. In other words, the existing, in-use tanks are already a bit seasoned and might be able to accept frags sooner. I'm thinking the display tank (running for several years) should lessen the impact of a new frag tank as well.

Any thoughts either way? Existing display tank is SPS heavy which is what I will be fragging.

If you are just adding a tank to an existing system, meaning you are adding the tank itself and more water, you do not need to worry.
Plumb it in, get it online and you'll be good to go.

I added a 20L not to long back. I need to tweek the flow from the first chamber as it's just flowing over the top. so I'm building up a little detritus. I had a few sticks in but with the flow issue they weren't the happiest. I can probably dig out a photo of the whole tank. it use to be my refugium
