Setting up my first saltwater tank.

My name is Salman, I want to set up a saltwater tank using a sump. I know a good amount and was wondering if I am missing anything. I am going to add a hang on the back filter that creates agitation (Should be plenty oxygen), a heater, circulation pump to the sump, a skimmer. All this for a 40 gallon tank. Excluding salt water and rocks/sand/coral. Also, would 40 be too small if I want to raise a pair of clownfish. Also, any tips on breeding. I would like to get in on that. Also, any tips in general would be appreciated.

I’d say it’s a great size to start and done for clowns.
Only thing missing (if you’re into corals) is a decent light system!

I use a fluval canister filter worked magic with my 40 tons of Coralie algae none grows on glass like before

Welcome to R2R!!! You can do a lot of things with a 40 gallon. That’s a good size starter tank not too small not too big.

You'll need a couple of powerheads in there to help with water movement, a hob filter will not provide sufficient movement for the whole tank.
