I'm setting up a new tank and bought 2 octo pulse 2 and a varioS-4. How do I connect those to the wave engine?

For the pulse 2's I need 2 adaptors and they connect directly to the wave engine?

For the varioS-4 I see it can connect to 10v or direct to the wave engine. What's the difference between the two? I assume either way I connect them I need an adaptor?

The Pulse 2 pumps can be connected via direct drive ( adapters) or you can use the 0-10v port adapter. The same goes for the VarioS-4 . You’ll need either the direct drive( adapter) or the 0-10v adapter .

For more information I encourage you to checkout the www.Coralvue hydros.com website and look under “ Get started “ section. All the information you seek is right on that website . :)

Thanks. I still can't find what the difference is between connecting the varioS-4 directly and connecting it through the 10v other than you don't need the power supply and controller if you connect it directly. Is there any performance/settings difference between the two?

Sorry if I missed that on the site

You did discover the difference. This is the difference. The only difference. You just need to ask yourself... do I want less controllers and power bricks?? Direct connection allows you to remove the power bricks and controller that comes with the pump. The 0-10v option in your case is an option. Some pumps you can’t direct connect and so you have to use the 0-10v option. You’ve got the ability to de clutter more than other folks . :)

One more question, how long are the adapter cables for the octo pulse? I can't find any info on the dimensions. My second octo pulse is about 2ft short for reaching my equipment cabinet. Just wanted to see if I needed the extender or not.

You’ll need both. The adapter is 6” and that hooks from the Wave Engine to the cable from the pump. The extension cable for the pump is 79” .

So for that pump you’ll need to hook an extension cable from the pump cable to the adapter cable and into the Wave Engine.

If the other side is close enough then you’ll just need the adapter cable to hook from your pump to the adapter cable to the Wave Engine.
