Hi guys, i noticed some ich in my tank and i'm planning to start a 10 gal quarantine tank for them. I have small fishes only, so i think 10 gal would be sufficient..

Is it okay if i fill the QT tank with water from my display and some existing biosphere? I'm going to use a hang on filter for the QT, will probably be putting the biosphere in the filter..

Also i am planning to use Cupramine for treatment, do i dose the tank with the medication first ? or do i have to transfer the fish into the QT first ?

Yes, you can use the water change water for the quarantine tank.

I typically dose up the water to half the therapeutic level of copper when i first put the fish in and observe how they react. Then dose up to therapeutic level over the next couple of days.
