Would anyone be willing to walk me through the setup of a Reefkeeeper Elite?

Will probably be setting it up this week. It is for my 14 year old daughter's tank/homeschool project. She has been so patient in setting everything up, the first tank was overran with algae/dinos and after 5 months we gave up and completely started over with a new tank. I want to get this up and running for her so she can get some corals and CUC (she wants to get them first and run the system fallow for 76 days).

The Reefkeeper is used, and I want to make sure it is updated. And there is a net module I need to set up. Plus moon lights. Tomorrow I can get a list of all the components and equipment we will be installing.
So, anyone up for a challenge lol

First thing you need to do is make sure that you download my reef from digital Aquatics website. This is the software you will need to be able to make sure you have the latest updates. In addition to that for anyone to be able to help you we need to know what modules you are going to be installing with the reef keeper. It is a pretty simple setup process

Thanks for your response!
Ok, pulled out all the equipment tonight.

I am thinking I have an outdated SID (it is just a black box, no writing) so I may not be able to hook up to the computer yet :::sigh:::

These are the components we have:

RKE v2 head unit
2 X PC4
SL2
MLC
NET
SL1

And the equipment that will be installed:
Light-will be controlled by RKE (Solarmax HO2 T5 light)
Skimmer
Powerhead (Hydor Koralia)
Jebao powerhead
Heater
ATO (Tunze-open to using the switches on the module though)
Maybe a camera, we have a couple wifi cameras
Also interested in some kind of water leak alarm

Want alarms (if possible) for things like temp, pH, water level in tank too high (to know if ATO does not shut off), ATO water level low.

She wants to be able to use the NET module for remote viewing. I know we will have to hook it up to the modem somehow, and can probably run a long cord for the time being. Have considered buying the device that plugs into a power outlet and allows you to plug into the internet-wow that probably made no sense but hopefully someone will know what I am talking about lol Just don't know what all my options are.

So, you need the new SID to be able to hook it to a computer for updating and use of myreef. Net module gives some programming abilities but not much from Internet. You cannot setup alarms and timers with it. But overall you can do everything you wish with that system. You should be able to control 8 total devices with the pc4 you have.
