It's really the lfs loss. Our local reef club/group has had the same experiences. They are lossing ground fast. They have moved 3 times in four years. Each move has resulted in a smaller store

They use to breed fish and have amazing selection of fish coral and all. Now their tanks are full of cyano. The fish looked stressed. The only thing that looked good was the bta. Which the store employee called a hammer.
It's probably a blessing I walked out.

Introducing a small male spotted mandarin to an established female can go one of two ways, love at first sight or ...?
I got or and now have a small male mandarin in the sump refugium of the big tank!
I deserved that first beer! ;)
Can two different types of mandrin get along or is it a one per tank.

I was thinking about one. Now I'm not so sure with the Leapord wrasse.

From my research, they usually show more aggression toward different colors. The spotted are easiest to pair.

These things are sounding more and more racist by the minute! :p

My girl in the big tank has taken out a male the same type, black scooter and a spotted mandarin, all bigger than her!

So I put an order in tonight with a different lfs. I ordered a pink stripped wrasse. I talked to the owner about getting live phyto in. She glossed right over that and tried to sell me on Tigger pods. It was like I never asked the question.
They really do have quality fish. Corals maybe a couple of dozen. The fish just can't be beat. The manger will pull my fish and hold them for a couple of weeks and medicate if needed. Just super people.

@12gallonsofhex my turn.

Bad new folks I have Dino in my tank

I had it in 2017 and it wiped out 90% of my corals. This time I know what I’m dealing with. Cheato dropped phosphates to undetectable levels.

plan.
Dosing refresh than waste away. I worked for cyano supposed to help with Dino as well.

No water changes. New sw seems to fuel growth. So my water changes will be into Into a 5 micron sock into a 5g bucket and dumped back into the tank

dosing phosphates into the tank.

that’s my plan. It worked last time it will work this time.

Hoping for good and quick results for you. Do you run UV at all?

Flourish phosphate is arriving tomorrow and the 5 micron socks should be in Friday. If I need a uv I'll get one. I beat them last time with out it. My goal is to get phosphates up to .5. 2017 I went to 1. The thing is to do it slow. I think I was at 10 mil a day for a few days to get a reading and than bam I went to 1.0. At that point dino went away and the gha exploded. The difference between 2017 and now I didn't let it go for 8 months. Been in the tank for about a week or so.
i thought it would go away because if new tank uglies. It is not.

I am honestly upset at this. I have been to 3 different LFS looking for a pink streak. 2 had never heard of it and none of them could order it for me.
