I love the colors on the coral beauty. Mine is constantly picking at the rocks.

The colors are fantastic. After I bought my coral beauty a friend is taking down his tank asked me if I wanted a bi color angel. Oof. It would have been name Harbough.

Something fascinating is going on.

The sand at the bottom was added for drainage. I than mixed in 3 handfulls of sand to help with drainage. The termites have started to separate the sand from the dirt. Wasn't expecting that.

why did they go to the trouble of putting it at the bottom instead of at the top? That implies they know they are bounded on the bottom? Or they want it for drainage too and its just more effective there? would each drone figure that out or would the queen pheromonally tell them to do that or their instincts are that intricately hard-wired... fascinating...

No queen that I know of. How and why they are separating it not sure.

Theres a possibility that they want the deeper soil where it's a bit darker but they could he clearing it away from the wood that's in the tank.

I placed it at the bottom for drainage. The sand moved to the top was the sand I mixed into the soil
