I like doing it that way...Can I use the water from a water change?
That's how I treat my rock barrel.I like doing it that way...

Just rockIs it just rock? Do you have a dosing pump?
My suggestion would be ammonia dosing.I do not and its
Just rock
Between 15-20 gal. About 90lbs of rock.My suggestion would be ammonia dosing.
Austins Clear Ammonia at TSC is best and easy to get. Just add a little everyday and it will keep the rock nice and alive. Plus you do not have to worry about phosphates, like you would ghost feeding with flakes/frozen/pellets.
Just need to keep an eye on nitrates.
How many gallons of water do you think you have with the rock? You tell me that and I can tell you how much to dose a day to maintain .25, as that is all that is needed to keep the bac population happy.
0.4 mL per day.Between 15-20 gal. About 90lbs of rock.
