Shame about the torch corals, they're finnicky as hell. Lost a couple 24k torches and others in the past myself. Love the look of them but yeah... they very easily/quickly crack it and then once it starts it's like they just give up. (Plus, some of my fish like to eat LPS...*sigh*)

CO2 Scrubber definitely helps, I didnt touch mine for a while out of laziness and was just running depleted media and was only seeing just a touch over 8pH daily... chucked some new media in and straight up to 8.2 and then some the next day... missus opened the house up one day and it jumped to 8.3 which is the highest I'd ever seen it.

Hey mate,

Yeah I've noticed certain torches are a pain in the butt to keep alive mainly aussie gold torches, I'm not sure why but it's just what I've noticed. But like you say, once they crack it and even if you try to dip it it's usually game over.
I do like the scrubber and it works well especially during winter, not sure if I'll run it as much in summer but we'll just see how we go. I do plan on running the scrubber hose out of the cabinet into fresh air to see how if it makes a difference, I'll let you know how it goes when summer comes along lol.

I don't know of many success stories with Gold Torch's unfortunately!

Yeah nice, definitely keep us updated on how the test goes. I'm tempted to try similar if it's a huge difference.
Tank is still ticking along alright, nothing much new going on other than culling some xenia (more needs to go though).
