Has anybody here made a shallow tidepool that is less than 12” deep?

I found this cold water tidepool setup on YouTube. Can the same be done for tropical saltwater fishes?
 
Top Shelf Aquatics
This would be fine for fish. Just dont get any fish that are known jumpers.
