what does everyone thing about hatching your own shark in a home aquarium? Do you think this is ethical to open a shark egg once the yoak is gone? or is this a practice the hobby should avoid.

Lets keep this friendly !

Forgive my ignorance but won't the egg hatch on its own? From what I've read they hatch before the yoke is gone.

I personally don't think it's unethical to open a shark egg if the yoke is gone. I have heard plenty of people say they can do it on there own but I have seen instances to where the sack was left alone and the shark died. So personally I feel that it may be necessary to give them an assist.

I've seen instances where the shark needed assistance. Not all are capable of hatching on their own. Without assistance will die, so helping them is better imo.

Don't help them. They really don't need it if they are healthy and viable.

I don't see a problem with it. If they are very healthy they should be able to hatch but at the same time you have now taken this animal into your care and paid your money to have it. Once it's in your care I think you should give it every chance possible. I've bred pythons before and usually end up cutting a little v in their eggs then let them crawl out on their own, very common practice in the reptile world.
