Thanks Jan, I’ll keep them coming then! LolI love to see this thread pop up in my notifications.
It means another great picture is up!
No Freddie, just NopoxShaun,
We're all tagging along.
Just curious... ;Writing
Do you dose bacteria's with the NoPoX too?
Do you have any idea how hard it is to read that text with the amazing picture directly underneath it? My eyes kept going down. It took 3 or 4 tries to make sure I didn't miss anything..My water change schedule has changed recently to around every 4-8 weeks, and I change 18% of the water.
I think the result of this is that nitrates have increased to around 20ppm, maybe a bit less, but a bit higher than I want and one of my nitrate indicating corals is telling me to reduce it.
So I’ve done another water change, will do another in the next few days but I don’t want to get back into regular water changes (like weekly) as I find it upsets the water chemistry, in particular foundation element levels.
So, I’ve increased the Nopox dose to 22ml per day, and added another 2L of Seachem Matrix. In addition, 2L of Seachem De Nitrate with another 2L about to be added in the next few days.
The De Nitrate needs to be in a slow flow area, so I’ve buried it within the Matrix bags of media to hopefully provide this. It’s basically exactly the same product as Matrix but just smaller ‘rocks’.
The target Nitrate level is ideally around 10, but 15 or less will be fine.
The Nopox dose is getting towards 4ml/100 litres which is above the recommended but I’ve been here before and it’s fine. It does increase the amount of glass cleaning, as you get a fine layer of white ‘dust’, and you also need to avoid white slime, bacterial flocks, mainly in the sump. I ‘ripple’ the water surface at higher doses and this stops the slime forming.
So we shall seen how the major increase in biological filtration affects the levels over the next few weeks.
Oh I nearly forgot, a picture of a ‘green coral’.....
This is a trick to see if anyone notices my quote didn't copy correctly, isn't it!?!?!?!Lol!
I like to get your attention @Brew12 and then mesmerise you! Lol
Here’s a slightly different version... it’s like another world.....
Are you paying attention! Lol
Yes! LolThis is a trick to see if anyone notices my quote didn't copy correctly, isn't it!?!?!?!
I'm on to your tricks!!!! ;Wideyed;Wideyed;Wideyed;Wideyed;Wideyed
Make me drool once, shame on me.. make me drool twice and I'll keep coming back.;Drool;Drool;Drool;Drool
I just did a 30g water change so things are a mess. I have some errands to run but you are making me want to stay home and pull out the camera! If the tank was clear enough for pictures I'd probably be getting the wife mad at me right about now!Since it’s ‘picture Saturday’ the coral you have been looking at above is the ‘green one’ on the right hand side of my tank
No Freddie, just Nopox
Why, do you know of some super ‘nitrate’ eating strain I can dose ?
Thanks for stopping by and your kind words, greatly appreciated!I have a lot of threads to check out, but this one might take an appointment.
Looking forward to reading 60pages that tells me how you got to this point.
What a hearty, full, balanced reef. Well done sir. Well done.
That is freaky! I have one and I haven't seen his eyes that clearly!Look into my eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes into the eyes, 3,2 1, your under.....
