Shep's 40 Gallon LPS Reef

Looking good shep!! Not sure if I missed it but what bulb combo did you go with?
I did 4 Blue+, 3 Coral+ and one Purple+, I am pretty happy but I think next time I might trade out the P+ for a True Actinic just so the corals have a bit more pop to them

Thanks! I can't wait to get a micro lens
That's on my list with a avast marine porthole for top down shots. Here's two of my pics as I'm new to the dslr world as well so learning yet also. I shot it raw and it's unedited point shoot n loaded they're not too bad.

Those are really nice pics!

Well the battle of the bubble algae rages on, I had to take a piece of rock out that had way too many bubbles to control. So once the rock is nice and dead I am going to clean it up and add it back. Will be getting a cleaner pack from LA soon and might start running some carbon too.

I'm fighting it as well [emoji31]

Well despite my best efforts the algae has now spread to the entire tank -__-, Any suggestions on how to fight it? The main problem is that the bubbles are so small that i can't get to or even find them all.

Put a few female emerald crabs in there. They will eventually control the bubble algae

How do you sex an emerald crab and will they eat the algae even if there is other food?
