Shep's 40 Gallon LPS Reef

Thanks! Have a little tweaking to do but so far so good!

Day to has had a few problems, the hose that connects the CPR overflow to the sump has a small leak in it (essentially a little water makes its way up the threads and then out), I am thinking of just putting a little silicone around it to fix it. Also SO MANY PLUGS!!!!!!! I have 10 plugs right now but once I have the ATO installed, it will be up to 12

What do you mean "plugs"? Power Cords?

Lol-I'm thinking this guys got holes everywhere? I'm like what the heck?!! Lol
Haha yea, you know I messed up drilling the tank and it looks like swiss cheese now :P
You could also get a plastic hose clamp. But silicone the threads should do the job.
I tired zip ties but those didnt work, I was thinking of getting the screw tightened hose clamps too

There would be nothing wrong with metals ones. I have 2 that are attaching hoses, just be sure not to over tighten, as they'll cut into the hose.

I really like the skimmer I got but the collection cup is freaking impossible to actually get off. I fear that I will break the skimmer body before it comes off >:l

Got some fancy filters for the camera so I figured I would test them out.
No Filter

CPL Filter

UV Filter

FLD Filter

I like the cpl filter best. Nice build. Gre as t looking tank. maybe I missed it, how did you get past the no sump rule?

I like the CPL and UV the best. The FLD gives it too much of a red tone. So I started with no sump but with all the black Friday deals, I decided to add one. Honestly my tank was fine without it but I liked the idea of having one. It comes down to your set-up, mine only has 3 small fish that get fed every other day. This made nutrient control easy and thus did not need a large volume or a large skimmer.

I thought your place would not allow more than 40g
