Shep's 40 Gallon LPS Reef

Yea, its a pain trying to deal with all the algae for sure but it is also really satisfying once you get it under control. Do you have a link to your tank? Would love to see some pics.

I made that same switch and was nervous but my corals have never grown better, very glad I made the switch

Also love the the tank!

No :( I lost my camera charger

i really like to see your full acan tank

Got a cleaner pack from LA and the snails are going to town on my algae!

Keep after it. Nice 40. Vibrant also does a good job of knocking down algae but you really have to watch your nutrients otherwise the dying algae will fuel other garbage like cyano.

I am sad to report but I think my tank might be going through a crash, all of my SPS are getting really pale and shedding tissue :( Nitrates are a little bit up at about ~10 but other than that all levels are good, doing water changes for now but I dont have much hope

Dang that sucks, I too am going thru nitrate issues but I think my sps will be ok, a few pieces browned out on me but that seems to be the worst of it(hopefully)

Here hoping yours do the same :)

It breaks my heart. Watching a crash is like torture. With no end in sight. :( i hope you can turn it around.

Could be worse. I do HOB on a 41 Fluval, and I don't find it to be that much of an eyesore.

Just keep what's inside the tank looking bright and colorful. That'll attract the eyes more than anything.

Can't wait to see what you do with it!

What light fixture is that?

I think I am most bummed about my mili starting to die, it was my first SPS and it had grown so much too. I think I might break down my sump and clean it out today, there is all kinds of crap in there right now

I'm so sorry Shep. Was this the same tank the lights dipped into
