Sherman Anemone Help

So, about two weeks ago i finally scored myself a Sherman BTA at an LFS here in Houston, TX.

I tried placing him on a foundation rock towards the bottom, naturally he didn't stay there for very long before he disappeared into some of my caves under the reef. so mi made some small changes to my lighting and after about two days he appeared peeking out the bottom of the rock near the sandbed. two more day go by and then massive changes occured!
I by chance was walking by my tank and noticed the BTA was footed partially on the side of the tank glass and had another pieced of foot on the side of an Ecotech MP-60 with Nemprotech guards on them. So he split himself in two and moved the larger to the other side of the mp-60.

My issue is that the bta is young enough to allow tentacles to enter parts of the nemguard, so when i witnessed it i turned of the powerhead. However he appears to be camping out on said powerhead.
So my question is "what do i do?"

I'm afraid that if i just repower the powerhead, it's going to make "Sushi" out of him.

Should i try to manually remove them first?

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Leave the powerhead off or move it.

I would shut it off and move the powerhead somewhere that makes him uncomfortable and moves. Maybe point another powerhead at him, he will move.

Update: Ok so i moved the powerhead a little and got one of them to swim back to the aquascape, the other is attached to the corner glass a couple of inches below the water line. But today all of its tentacle's are shrunk to be very short in length and diameter. Does anyone know if this is normal behavior for a recently split Anemone?
