I'm curious how folks are able to get shipping costs down for someone who only occasionally ships?
Thx

I drop off at fed ex. Check the various ones in your neighborhood because they have different cut off times. Choose the one that lets you drop off as late as possible that way the corals are in a bag for the shortest time possible

Hi,
I checked shipnex and are still around $80ish for 3lb weight. Is this still conside reasonable rate for overnight? Never shipped before but are looking into it.

Thanks.

I'm not sure I would call it reasonable o_O but that is what I've been paying. From 72-89ish depending on location. I wish they had an acct option for little guys that don't ship 50 packages a day.

I find the rate to be between $45-60 for next day by 10:30 am. For an approx 11x9x8 box. I think shipnex defaults this size to four or five pounds. I live in Los Angeles and that cost is to literally to any of the other 48 states. I might ship a handful of boxes every few months or so

When I checked, it's by pound and destination in the range of 70-90. Is there something I'm missing? Can't seem to find the prcing you are referring to.

Yeah, I've found shipnex usually cuts about a third off of regular fed-ex / UPS pricing.

Depending on the coral sometimes they don't necessarily need to be shipped overnight or can be shipped with less water. I know kpaquatics.com has some things with reduced shipping, I don't remember exactly details but I think they explain it somewhere on their website.
