Shipping tissue recession recover?

Guys,
Can tissue recession in SPS corals, recover? I have taken the ends of living coral, off of the dead bottoms, and glued them in my tank! Hopefully, they will live! This is how I feel about Fedex. right now!!!!:choler:

i have had an ORA green birds nest i got localy make a great recover after tissue recession. it start then i fraged and its started again but left it the second time. now its twice the size and looking good.

That is good to know! Thanks! :) I put a few drops of iodine in the tank too! I sure hope they make it. I"ve wanted them for soooooooooo looooooooooong! :)

why are you blaming fedx was package late? if not and was on time I would talk with the seller.On a good note you did right thing cut off to new tissue and reglue and hope and pray.

I'm upset with Fedex, because it was priority overnight, shipped Tuesday morning, and was supposed to get here on Wednesday before noon. It didn't get here, until Thursday, around three. I called Fedex on Wednesday afternoon, when it didn't show up, and asked them to please put it in a warm place, because it was live coral, and they did, and said they were sorry, and that they would make a note to bring it first thing Thursday morning. I had moved my schedule to be home on Wednesday, and also Thursday morning, but I had to go to work in the afternoon, so my only alternative, was to put a insulated box on the porch, with a heating pad in it, and leave them a note. I got here shortly after three, and my son was here and brought the box in when it got here, (didn't have to go in with the heating pad) :) but the box was cold inside. I only have half a frag of the Green birdsnest left, and the top half of the Orange/green one left. I got a German Blue Monti that seems ok, and some Candy canes,but I got a Mega Polyp green leather, and it is disintigrating this morning! I could just cry! I HATE when such special creatures die! That is why I am upset with Fedex! :)

Oh, and the seller had two heating pads in the box, which would of been great if it would of gotten here on Wednesday. I'm just a bit frustrated! :)

just look at my avatar and that will explain how a lot of people feel about fedex, they have cost me a lot of money in corals due to undelieverd or late packages, UPS isn' that much better, but hey that is the risk we take when we ship live corals

Yeah, for sure. Just lost $200 on a delayed FedEx shipment. Nine SPS dead within 24 hours. Might have helped if the bags weren't leaking, but who knows? We takes our chances, especially in winter. To be fair, FedEx from another shipper arrived first thing in the morning that day, and the water was warm enough for SPS polyps to be open in the bags.

Yup, I would say of late though FedEx has been pretty good to me, I guess Karma is paying me back for all the other FedEx nightmares I have dealt with in the past :angel:

I've had better luck with FedEx than UPS.

I now have both ship to a customer service center where I can pick it up when they open at 7:30. I haven't had a late package to arrive there, but I think I would be able to pick it up as long as its during their normal business hours.

I thing FedEx does the best job of all the couriers. Not perfect, but better than their competitors. For that reason, I ship everything FedEx. If they missed their overnight delivery, I would ask the shipper to file a claim with them.

The way I see it is you entered into a contract with the seller to buy a box of corals. Then the seller entered into a contract with FedEx to deliver that box overnight to you. If FedEx did not do that, then your "beef" is not with FedEx, but with the seller for not delivering when promised. The seller should reship the order or refund your payment. Then the seller should file a claim with the shipper (FedEx) for the loss. That's the way I conduct all my transactions for frags.

After all is "said and done", this time of year (unless you live in south Florida, south California, or the desert southwest; I recommend that all shipments be held at the local FedEx facility for pickup. That saves the frags from the long day of riding in the cold delivery truck.

I agree, After all is "said and done", this time of year (unless you live in south Florida, south California, or the desert southwest; I recommend that all shipments be held at the local FedEx facility for pickup. That saves the frags from the long day of riding in the cold delivery truck. this use to happen to me a bunch, call the fedex place and they say it went out in truck this morning and not show up till after dark. (bummer) now i know the people that work there and they call me when my stuff gets there.
