Well........... I got shocked............ no really SHOCKED!!

I have been shipping quite a few boxes over the time but not this year yet!
Drove to the FedEx this afternoon where I always go and dropped a box off about 5Lb and the lady quoted me $141.65................................:( exactly!!
Last year I paid similar around $80 which I have been paying all the time.
Told her that it doesn't have to go to Mars you know............ she had no :( humor :( I can tell you that.
Now I know if you set up a account with FedEx you come in a lower rate but what is low if you mail out maybe 4 boxes a month?
Next week I have to mail out a similar box to San Antonio....... I might just drive up there and do the river walk with the lady and come back same day, probably only $50 in Diesel fuel (Yes I drive a HD Diesel truck ;) and not related to my name)

You may not be a UPS fan, but most of the local UPS Stores are franchised, and you can establish an account with them to help lower the cost and I don't think there is a limit to how many times you have to use it or anything!

That's crazy!! Maybe she was new and made a mistake.

I had to ship some stuff back from AZ to FL last year. Is was quite a bit of weight, May be 150 lbs and I was going to send it ground. FedEx quoted something like $600.00 plus. I forgot that I had a FedEx account, and not pleased as I was leaving the door. I remembered I had an account. I turned around and had FedEx re-quote the ship with my account and it was around $150.00. Setup and account you can save 50% to 70% on shipping. The account is free and there is no quota for shipping volume.

I will find out tomorrow when I call HQ.
If she made a mistake I want free shipping for life :p

pete beat me to it, but at least register for a SYA account and you can see if it works out. I use SYA to ship quit a bit, albeit not for overnight and get decent prices.

Good luck with that, FedEx is strange with shipping costs if you do not have an account.

Yes they are some freebies in there.
Box has a total of 18 beauties.

The UPS and USPS both have given me stupid quotes in the store. I have gone home done it online and got the "real rate" I dont know how many times.
