Should i attempt to fight algae?

My tank is still very young, only a couple months old and i have a little hair algae i was wondering if i could just leave it and see if it will fix its self out as the tank becomes mature

if its new tank let it go through its time i mean sure why not manually get it out but adding chemicals so early i dont see a point

Welcome to R2R!!! You may want to manually remove the worst of it by hand and reevaluate your lighting and feeding.

My camera is currently broken so i am going to have to wait on that but i have had kind of high nitrates, im currently trying to fix that with water changes

Welcome to the club! have you added a clean up crew yet? snails and crabs and what not? they will take care of it if its not to out of hand.

Ill try to remove some of it by hand thanks and new light is on its way i had a coral life cheap led and now probably gonna upgrade to a ai prime

Algae Identification

Any opinions on what type of algae this is growing on my rocks and sand bed?

we are convincing him to fight algae for sure. when you start that fight, up to you. no harm in practice, right about now though

I have astrea snails at the moment but they have mostly been staying on the glass and wont clean my rocks, any suggestions for more cuc its a 10g reef tank

Welcome to R2R!! You can remove the hair algae by manually removing it and add some snails/crabs.

Definitely invest in a diverse clean up crew, and make sure to do your water changes regularly, that along with making sure you aren't overfeeding and your light intensity isn't too high. Manual removal is a good thing, there is an element of allowing it to sort itself but there are things that help, manual removal and having some vibrant on hand in case it does get too much! Also...

If no coral, you can pull the rock right out and scrub/spray with hydrogen peroxide. Hair algae no reason for huge stress, a little of any algae can become a lot in short order though.
