So setting up the brand new 40 breeder, I have two of them from the same manufacturer, but they are slightly different (built about 1.5 years apart). . . the newer tank seems fine, but the older tank has two "issues". The edge where they beveled the glass is a bit rough with a few tiny chips (maybe tool/blade was getting dull?) this seems pretty superficial and is on the back edge of the tank. . . the other issue is these MAYBE air pockets in the silicone? This silicone is not completely black but semi transparent so I guess this could just be where the glass is fit together more snuggly???

Anyway what are your thoughts. . . I probably have to use it anyway. . . but I guess how worried should I be?

Both are rimmed 40 gallon breeder tanks BTW.

Thanks exnisstech, that is sort of what I am thinking, hoping I am just paranoid haha!

anyone else with thoughts on the matter?

Now i'm freaking out because I can't remember if these little white spots, maybe bubbles, were there before (didn't realize my picture was so out of focus). . .

Still ok?

I wouldn't really concern me, but if you started seeing sand get between the silicone and glass I would be worried.

It being framed should help.

How is the tank doing now?
