Should I cut it off?

I have a Hollywood stunner that have grown to be a pain. Its sweeper tentacles can be 4 inches long. It has almost killed off my tierra de fiego.

Should I cut it off or let it be?

I wouldn't touch it. It should just regrow over everything again.

I would cut it, remount it on a plug or small rock. If it's healthy it will start encrusting the new plug or rock quicker than fighting through the algae growing on the dead zones. I hope you already moved out of reach of the stunner. An iodine dip after fragging it would be a good idea.

Frag that stunner back! They are so pretty but those tentacles are crazy long.

What kills me is it was browned out from shipping for some time, turned green and was now finally coloring up red. And yes I have frag that stunner. It just grows to fast.

It will grow over the exposed skeleton provided conditions are adequate for growth.

If you cut it it will be faster. But yes it would grow back over its own skeleton eventually, but if it has to fight off algae etc on its way down it can take a lot longer.
