Should I get a flame angel now?

I currently have a 6 month old biocube 32 and i am 10 days into cycling a RedSea Max S400. Need advice I was thinking about ordering a dwarf flame angel that would come middle of week. Probably be moving big rock and livestock to new tank at end of week if cycle is done. Thinking flame would have better chance in new tank while everybody is looking to establish their territory. Currently have 2 clowns, dottyback,small yellow tang and ywg in cube. Any thoughts?

Just from personal experience, flame angels like a little more room than what it’s going to get in a 32 gallon. If it’s very small it will buy you a few months but eventually it will start becoming a nuisance bullying and eating what you don’t want it to. It’s color wasn’t that great either. I have one in a 65 and it swims every inch of free space in that tank. I had it in a jbj 28 gallon and it was a terror. In the 65 it’s been a model citizen. You might be better off with a tank bred coral beauty or cherub angel. But it’s just my opinion based off experience.

I think in a 100 gal tank (Redsea Max S400) the Flame angel will be fine. Have a lot of rock and lots of crevices for him and he will be happy. In act I would add a pair instead of just one. You will really enjoy them spawn.

he will be fine in the larger tank.....they can be hit/miss on nipping at corals. Mine is a good citizen, have had him for 6+ years!

I had one in my 90. He obliterated my Acans and Trachys before I could get him out. Just my Bad luck. I really liked it.

This can be a mixed response as i have two flame angels and neither bother my coral. One was in a 35g with other fish and then transferred to a 50g drop off and still no issues.
For OP, id wait until tank is WELL established (about 4 months) as some do not handle spikes well such as ammonia

It will only be in biocube for a week or less. My 110g s400 is 10 days into cycle. I will be keeping angel in isolation box until I move all livestock to new tank

Get one and set up a camera so we can watch the battle for dominance and territory! Good Luck, hope you get cool fish that don't fight like fish. Individuals can be very cool sometimes, fingers crossed.
