I have a 2 panel 4' set with wifi and it seems to be doing a great jog.

Now that I said that our maintenance guy reported one panel has some lights dead. LOL

Will have to check it out at home tonight.

FWIW I haven't used wifi on ours.

Further update, we upgraded and the new hood is not as tall as the old hood.

The particular dsuny lights I have each panel is ~2'x6-8" and does not have a cooling fan. It just uses radiation to cool.

I think in the new hood they installed the lights higher or closer to the top of the hood which cut down the cooling area.

Therefore, the lights are running hotter and 2 channels have failed in one panel in less than a week.

But that shouldn't apply to an older system. You might check to insure all leds are operation just to be on the safe side.

I'm using the panels with the built in fans and they are brilliant you can find them on ebay new for cheap. I know the panels without fans tend to overheat and burn out

sound like what we're gonna have to do. Things were fine though with the taller hood. then with a shorter hood over a 90g (vrs 60g) it only took one week for a panel to burn out.

There are 2 type of light
1, no-fan version; the advantage is best cover, so there is no tiny shady spot in your tank, even at the corner of the bottom. And it also save 35% energy power!
if there is good air-flow in your tank cover or there is cool fan in the cover (like red sea tank for there no-led light). I strong suggested this version.
2, fan version. : the advantage is more strong in same area under light.
if deep tank or you do not care about the power consumption, I suggest this.

the newest marine version of them as following.

Maybe you see there are Red and Green led base on that version.

There is really some one want red and green, so we do that version. I do not think the red is useful for coral grow.

just an update: The panel the failed had some cold soldier on the controller cards. Meanwhile the new panels and older panels on you new 90g have been trouble free for a couple of years or so.

BTW, In fact, there is only 2 type from the view of compatibility of electricity.
1, fan version
2, no-fan version.

each panel of same type should be compatible with each others, no matter the versions. even marine version with fresh water version.

Hi from Italy.
I bought 4 panel no-fan version for my 500 litres, 140x60x60. I think it's good quality for the price, the project it is excellent.
I bought online and received in my country in 10 days.
thin panels , no fan and so no noise, low power consumption, perfect spectrum for corals.
