I'm upgrading my 10 gallon reef to a 40 gallon reef. I bought 30 pounds of dry marco rock which is cycling in the 40 gallon reef and I expect the cycle to be down in about a week.
Should I add the rock I have in my 10 gallon reef to the sump of my new tank? I plan to move over my corals and fish once the cycle in the 40 gallon is done. It's just 2 clowns and a blenny and a shrimp plus some corals like zoas and torches, hammers, frogspawn and some mushrooms. Nothing is crazy sensitive.
I'm worried about bringing pests into the new tank if I move over the tank. I have some bubble algae, hair algae, aiptasia, bristleworm, and sponges. Nothing is out of control and I think sponges and the worm is good anyways.
What should I do?
